Merchant City Festival: Pop-up architecture (2011)
Inspiration/stimulus: Architecture and the city, Pavilions
Space: Empty office space
Materials/tools: Cardboard, boxes, recycled/scrap materials, tape etc.
Length of time: open ended drop-in
In June 2011 we were invited to create a 3 day Pop-up Pavilion Project as part of Merchant City Festival. Over three days we transformed an empty office building into a city of pop up structures from a range of temporary materials. Over 150 people took part and families could drop in and stay as long as they wanted, building together.
